More Trustworthy News On Facebook

As we all have gone through the confusion of what news to trust and what not to when they come up on the news feed.

But Facebook has announced that they are working on this to make it more trustworthy for the users. They will be doing a survey on the use of users by which they will determine reliable outlet.

To eradicate the recent happening fake news and propaganda on the social network.

Mr. Zuckerberg said, “We could try to make that decision ourselves, but that’s not something we’re comfortable with.

We considered asking outside experts, which would take the decision out of our hands but would likely not solve the objectivity problem. Or we could ask you – the community – and have your feedback determine the ranking”

Questions will be asked to the users to recognize the news brand and also if they trust them.

But Facebook yet to be tested on a broad scale since they are still searching users that will give them the actual information.

Mr. Zuckerberg also said, “There’s too much sensationalism, misinformation and polarisation in the world today.

Social media enables people to spread information faster than ever before, and if we don’t specifically tackle these problems, then we end up amplifying them.”

A Facebook spokesman told BBC, “This is one of many signals that go into News Feed ranking.

We do not plan to release individual publishers’ trust scores because they represent an incomplete picture of how each story’s position in each person’s feed is determined.”
