How to Set up a WIRELESS ROUTER in Windows 7

Setting up a wireless router can be mammoth task and may make your head spin in confusion with all the different inputs and “God knows where” output. At this point you are not even sure how to get to the software installation parts. Also, to some of us, multiples sizes and shapes of wires can be downright daunting. But this is not so difficult when you know WHAT TO DO and WHAT IS WHAT? This becomes very easy when installing for Windows 7, which is the widely used operating system now.

This can be explained in the five steps as entailed below.

  • Setting up the HARDWARE: Router come in all shapes and sizes. Some need web applications to be accessed while others do not need its , like Apple machines, Eero and Starry. First connect the router’s WAN port to your DSL port in your home modem.
  • Using a second network cable, connect one of the router’s LAN ports to the computer and the turn on the router
  • Go to the network icon on the right-hand bottom-side of the page. The icon looks like a series of vertical bars or a little icon of a PC with the network adapter byt the side of it.
  • Then Select the name of the Router from the available network options and procees to finish the setup process..
