Are You Up For Nissan Leaf Electric Car?

Nissan has brought Leaf, new electric car to the market along with another electric car market. This car can even go 50% more further than the predecessor, stated the firm.

Although it has still more improvement to give a proper competition to Tesla and General Motors. So far, since a Japanese firm in 2010 has launched that Leaf car, more than 2,83,000 cars have been sold. That exceeded the previous record of purchased electric cars.

Principal automotive analyst, Ian Fletcher commented at the IHS Markit consultancy, “The general industry standard for model cycles is around six-to-seven years, so the launch of the second-generation Leaf falls neatly in to this timeframe. However, the next three to four years looks set to see further upgraded and brand-new vehicles, and manufacturers in this space still have everything to play for”.

The new Leaf, on sale in Japan from October and elsewhere early next year, has a longer range thanks to a bigger 40-kilowatt hour (kWh) battery.
Because different territories have different tests for electric vehicles, the new Leaf’s quoted range varies according to where it will be sold:

  • in Europe, it is 378km (235 miles)
  • in Japan, it is 400km (248 miles)
  • in the US, it is 241km (150 miles)

Apparently, Nissan’s one pedal can turn onto “e-Pedal” by pressing a button that can work as start, accelerate, brake and stop. It will also provide added energy efficiency gains.

Chris Lilly, content manager for the Next Green Car news site said, “It takes every element of the old Leaf and improves upon it, and adds a whole lot of new features”.

This can do even parallel parking, by dealing with up to 7-point turns. Driver can also do the adjustment in the dashboard if they feel necessary.
