Everyone Throwing Questions At Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg’s present situation is such that no one could ever imagine of before. He has been called out to the parliament and questioned by the authority based on how Facebook really works.

He disclosed by saying his data was harvested in a privacy scandal during his 2nd day of questioning in Washington.

Stepping down the acting chief executive has been announced by the political consultancy at the heart of the affair in a related development.

They were also planning to whether to take any action against the University of Cambridge.

The institution is based where the researcher Aleksandr Kogan who had collected and sold personal data to Cambridge Analytica.

Mr. Zuckerberg said, “What we found now is that there’s a whole program associated with Cambridge University where… there were a number of other researchers building similar apps.

So, we do need to understand whether there was something bad going on at Cambridge University overall that will require a stronger reaction from us.”

The university has reacted by saying it would be “surprised” if Mr. Zuckerberg was only now aware of the work.

It also added, “Our researchers have been publishing such research since 2013 in major peer-reviewed scientific journals, and these studies have been reported widely in international media. These have included one study in 2015 led by Dr. Aleksandr Spectre (Kogan) and co-authored by two Facebook employees.

We have found no evidence that University researchers are improperly gathering personal data.”

It was a shock that Mr. Zuckerberg failed to check that Cambridge Analytica had deleted information gathered about millions of Facebook users in 2015; even though he apologized for that.

Mr. Zuckerberg said, “We have a responsibility to make sure what happened with [app developer] Kogan and Cambridge Analytica doesn’t happen again.”

A 33-year-old employee of the firm said, there is no such evidence as yet that Russia or China had attempted to scape people’s information.
