10k Views for Adverts on YouTube

It’s been so long that the YouTube users are generating profit via adverts on their video channels, but now YouTube is changing the rules for that.

YouTube has announced that every new channel need to get 10k views if they want to be considered as the YouTube Partner Program. After that YouTube will look into the fact if that channel is maintaining all the rules set by the firm to letting them carry out with adverts.

The firm confirmed the diminish of content theft and fake channels.

Ariel Bardin, Vice President of Product Management at YouTube wrote, “After a creator hits 10k lifetime views on their channel, we’ll review their activity against our policies. If everything looks good, we’ll bring this channel into YPP [YouTube Partner Program] and begin serving ads against their content. Together these new thresholds will help ensure revenue only flows to creators who are playing by the rules.”

According to the Senior Analyst for Advertising Research from HIS, Qingzhen Chen, getting 10k views would not be a big problem where the number of global audience for YouTube is more than a Billion.

She said, “That view is not a subscription – so even when people don’t watch the whole video that will still consider a view.”

“We need to think about why YouTube is doing this. There are have been troubles recently in the news about some of its content, some big brands and agencies have pulled their adverts – this is just another effort to deal with the those issues.

Publishers are increasingly going to spend their money on digital so they are going to be asking for more in terms of their ads appearing alongside the right content.”
